A City In Shock

On April 23, 2018, the Toronto Van Attack marked one of the darkest days in Canadian history. This hate-motivated tragedy injured 15 and claimed the lives of 11 innocent people, including Anne Marie D’Amico — a beloved daughter, sister, and friend whose kindness and compassion touched all who knew her. Her loss left a permanent mark on the D’Amico family and countless others.

The D’Amico Family Launches Charitable Foundation

The Anne Marie D’Amico Foundation was launched by the D’Amico family, in December 2018, as a way to honour their daughter and sister, and to carry Anne Marie’s legacy with them each day. Inspired by her character and in remembrance of her spirit, the Foundation will effect positive change by drawing on Anne Marie’s passion and practice for selfless acts of kindness, her altruistic behaviour, and her ability to give back with her whole heart.

The Anne Marie D’Amico Foundation is a Canadian registered charity working to support humanitarian causes that embody Anne Marie’s spirit to effect positive change.

To carry forward Anne Marie’s legacy by fostering her values of compassion, integrity, and kindness, and inspiring them to be lived and shared across communities around the world.

Special Initiatives Council

The Special Initiatives Council is a dedicated group of leaders who help advance the mission of the Anne Marie D’Amico Foundation through the development and leadership of signature events, campaigns, and special projects. Working collaboratively, council members provide strategic insight, creative direction, and hands-on support to bring meaningful initiatives to life while ensuring each reflects the foundation’s values and vision. Through their leadership, commitment, and shared passion, they help strengthen the foundation’s reach, inspire community engagement, and create lasting impact in honour of Anne Marie’s legacy.

Ambassadors

Ambassadors are a dedicated group of individuals who help extend the reach of the Foundation’s mission within the community. Acting as advocates for Anne Marie’s legacy, Ambassadors support awareness, engagement, and fundraising efforts through outreach, storytelling, and participation in Foundation initiatives and events. Through their involvement, they help foster connection, inspire kindness, and amplify the impact of the Foundation’s work.
