About The Turtle Project

The Turtle Project will be an evening of live entertainment and the pinnacle fundraising event for the Anne Marie D’Amico Foundation. Inspired by Anne Marie’s character and in remembrance of her spirit, The Turtle Project will be held on December 3rd each year. It will be a culmination of the foundation’s fundraising and awareness efforts while commemorating Anne Marie’s birthday each year.

The meaning of the turtle transcends Anne Marie’s childhood nickname. It is a symbol of strength, stability, and longevity symbolizing the endurance of the foundation. The turtle also represents wisdom, peace, and good luck. The turtle’s charming demeanour represents tranquillity and their hard shell acts as a barrier protecting against the world’s hardships.

Performers

Tara Slone – Host

Tara Slone’s eclectic resume and unique perspective have made her one of the most recognizable faces in the Canadian entertainment industry. The co-host of Rogers Hometown Hockey with Ron MacLean, Slone speaks about her intriguing career path, which saw her transition from rock star to broadcaster. Slone also hosts Sportsnet’s new weekly docuseries Top of [HER] Game, which explores the lives, careers, and accomplishments of sport and culture’s female thought leaders.

Prior to her work in broadcasting, Slone was the lead singer of the Juno-nominated rock group, Joydrop, and a finalist in the CBS hit series Rockstar: INXS. She has also appeared in numerous films and television episodes.  In 2013, Slone won the Alberta TV and Film award for Best Television Host, and in 2020, she was nominated for the Canadian Screen Award’s Best Host in a Talk Show or Entertainment News Series award for hosting Citytv’s summer concert series Budweiser Stage at Home.

Jones, Interview Magazine, Teen Vogue, and MTV News.

RALPH – Singer

With an emphasis on narrative songwriting and genre-bending musical style, JUNO award nominated artist RALPH has created a special role for herself within the contemporary music scene; a sound that is catchy but cool, sexy but smart, edgy but evocative. She’s developed a soundscape that is uniquely her own, but what truly makes RALPH’s songs special is that they are ferociously honest and relatable. This finesse sent her hit track “Gravity” up the radio charts into the Top 20, followed by a JUNO award nomination for Dance Recording of the Year.

Starting with little more than talent and a vision, over the past three years RALPH has built an incredible following in the USA, Canada and Europe. She’s joined the likes of Ria Mae, Carly Rae Jepsen, and Scott Helman on three cross-Canada tours, and has drawn crowds south of the border for a North American tour with joan. Earning over 45 million streams across platforms and seeing her music featured across television networks such as E!, HBO, Freeform and VICE, she has earned praised from a wealth of tastemaker press such as The FADER, Billboard, Paper, Paste, NYLON, V Magazine, Mother Jones, Interview Magazine, Teen Vogue, and MTV News.
